Rather than treating #Sleep as a single dimension (e.g. “good vs bad”), researchers analyzed multiple facets of sleep (duration, disturbances, use of sleep aids, etc.) and discovered five distinct sleep profiles, each linked with different health, cognitive, and brain-network characteristics
Sleep is far more nuanced than just duration. These five profiles offer a richer framework to understand how different sleep patterns relate to mental health, cognition, and brain structure. In future, clinicians might use these profiles to tailor more personalized sleep and health interventions.
